When New York Built designers Aaron Lown and John Roscoe Swartz both recently became fathers, they set to work on designing the things they needed, but couldn't find for their babies. Drawing inspiration from the city that never sleeps, Built applies colour and pattern liberally to everything they create. They’ve discovered form is as important as function, and colour is the glue that binds them together. The result is stylish and original products that meet your everyday needs with a bit of fun!
Stephen Savage is known for his economical style of illustration that conveys complex ideas and emotion with simple lines and colour. He does a wide range of work from children’s books and household design to celebrity portraits and political icons. His books include the best-selling Polar Bear Night and a new Margaret Wise Brown picture book, The Fathers Are Coming Home, due out in the spring of 2010. He created the animal faces on the Munchlers, whimsical lunch bags for kids made by BUILT NY. Stephen lives in Brooklyn with his wife and their baby daughter.
